Was rifling through my bookmarks trying to figure out what was worth keeping, what should be thrown away when I ran into [livejournal.com profile] lysachan's Homage to Pepa/Silvia and remembered why I loved this show and this pairing so damn much. Picspam and video links and pepa/silvia awesomeness. Not to mention a sort of coming out for those of us who agree (and I so do) that Pepa is all kinds of hot, but Silvia is and will always be our notsosecret crush.
Just a couple of Xena recs because I ran across some new (to me) classic fics and had to share:

Storms of War by JLynn is R for violence and it's novel-length. This is an extraordinary story that follows Xena and Gabrielle to a town under siege, a town Xena once sacked as a warlord. There is a romance woven through the story, but JLynn really takes her time building it. In other words, if you're looking for smut, you should probably look elsewhere. Apparently, there's a sequel (I can't wait!), which may or may not grant the GOGA. Still, this is a remarkable story that actually had my jaded, cynical self in tears near the end.

Dragon's Child by Domenica is Mature and it's novella-length. Another remarkable story. This one centers on Xena and Gabrielle's relationship, intertwined with stories within the story told by a bard who seems awfully familiar. This story is told in fragments that come together beautifully at the end. Also, one of the best takes on their relationship I've seen.

Also, Virtual Season 2 of Women's Murder Club (Lindsay/Cindy) returns Oct 31st! If you're not following this fantastic season (which is such an improvement on the show, they're barely comparable), you're really missing out. Fantastic stories, writing, and group dynamics. Finally, a group of women who are really there for each other. Love!

Also, also: check out [livejournal.com profile] pepa_silvia community for all your Pepa/Silvia needs, Including videos, picspam, and [livejournal.com profile] random_flores' translations. Hmmmm, think I need a fix right now *hurries over to the comm* *G*
So, a few recs (because my torec list is completely off the hook!):

First, some BTVS:
Ghost by Sailor80 is Buffy/Willow and some Faith/Buffy, Mature, novella. I don't think I've ever rec'ed this pairing before, but that's not because I don't like it. It is one of the rarest animals in the femslash world. Following the events of S7 and the closure of the Hellmouth, Buffy wanders aimlessly, seeming to become more and more detached. Is she detached, going crazy, or is there something more magical at work? What I love about this fic (besides the fact that it's a fantastic story and Faith figures prominently) is the depiction of the aging slayer(s) and witch and the emotional complexity of their interactions as the new generation of Watchers and slayers try to take over what were once their roles. Extraordinary. Also, did I mention there's a prophecy? And the Hellmouth? Perfect story. PERFECT!

these two come via [livejournal.com profile] firstmoment's BTVS recs:

when all the wild summer was in her gaze by [livejournal.com profile] solvent90 is Buffy/Faith, PG. This is a short and beautifully breathless fic about the aging slayers.
Faith dreams, sometimes, at abrupt intervals, of Buffy as she used to be

Gemini by [livejournal.com profile] only_passenger is Buffy/Faith, PG. and it's just extraordinary. If she could cut herself in half, part of Buffy would follow Faith anywhere.

Then some Criminal Minds:
two entangled fics from [livejournal.com profile] _astralis: Real Time and Colour and Light the Bitter Dark, both JJ/Emily, PG. These are both lovely and understated glimpses of this fragile relationship as it develops in the stolen, secret moments within and between the horror of their work. Beautiful. The Will storyline has really destroyed this pairing for me, but astralis does a wonderful job of returning this pairing to us.

and finally, some Pepa/Silvia:
Over Again by [livejournal.com profile] random_flores is Pepa/Silvia, Mature and was written as part of [livejournal.com profile] ralst's Pepa/Silvia ficathon. This is another exceptional fic from flores. What I love about this fic is the way she fills in the past for us, revealing so much about the characters and their motivations. As you're all probably aware, I love this pairing, but there isn't really a lot of story for them, which is either a problem or an opportunity and flores makes the most of it.

Shit Happens by [livejournal.com profile] omiceti (omiceti is back!!!!) is PG-13. This is really a stolen moment at the beach for our girls and it's absolutely lovely.

There's more pepa/silvia fic (that I haven't read yet or that was written by me) and spectacular vids at the Pepa/Silvia ficathon so check it out! I'm hoping this is only the beginning of MUCH more Pepa/Silvia fic and work because this canon pairing is just too hot and lovely to pass up.

Sorry for the long silence. I've been sick and there was a HUGE and ridiculous kerfuffle over my Masters defense, but who gives a sh*t when [livejournal.com profile] ralst is hosting a ficathon for Pepa/Silvia?! Srsly. I <3 this (canon!) pairing like whoa (check out my posts on the subject). So please sign up to bring some much needed Pepa/Sivia fanfic into the world. I plan to sign up as well if I can get someone to locate that slippery jerk other people like to call their 'muse' or other innocuous-sounding names.

Also, check out [livejournal.com profile] random_flores LJ for all your Pepa/Silvia video needs. random even has scenes not available (or translated into English) on Youtube. She even translates them for us and provides hothot picspam! That? Is my kinda community building.

And one more thing. [livejournal.com profile] thrace got me hooked on Pepa/Silvia from the Spanish show Los Hombres de Paco. This is a great video with Pepa/Silvia moments, amazing editing, and a great song.

If you want more Pepa/Silvia, I recommend http://www.youtube.com/user/PepaySilviaLHDP
This user has all the Pepa/Silvia eps with English subtitles.

eta if this post seems a bit redundant, that's because it is. Remember that Pepa/Silvia post I made a few weeks ago because Youtube had eaten my post? Well this would be the original post youtube ate. Apparently, I'm on some sort of watchlist (lesbian!terrorist!) and this post had to be vetted by the NSA prior to posting.
So, I posted a youtube video last night, but apparently it didn't make it through their servers, so I'll try again.

[livejournal.com profile] thrace_ got me completely hooked on Pepa/Silvia from the Spanish show Los Hombres de Paco.

this fanvid, The Build-Up, by youtube user ThoseRainDrops is a great introduction with wonderful editing to a fav radiohead song.

this is the best link (youtube user PepaySilvia) for Pepa/Sylvia ep vids w/English subtitles.

also, this just in!
Those RainDrops has a brand new fanvid, No Fear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeFO0pAs5Pg

I have some issues with the show (Pepa and Silvia do not share even one scene -- including the love scene -- that isn't in some way watched and/or interrupted by men, including Silvia's father -- yuck!), but it's a great pairing with serious chemistry, so I'm willing to overlook... the lookers.
