Tonight, a few rec's from the Voyager universe, mainly because I've just discovered Beacham's work (I'm always the last one to the party).

All J/7
Tempus Omnia Revelat is a dark, haunting look at J/7's dysfunctional relationship that becomes even more dysfunctional when Janeaway is taken prisoner. This is not fluff and it's longer than your average fic, but well worth the investment. Beacham can really write and you get a sense that she knows her stuff when it comes to the science, not to mention the incredible detail that give all of her stories extra depth and resonance.

To get more of Beacham's truly inspired fic, you'll have to venture onto the VOYsite and scroll down. Yes, it's a terrible and frustrating site, but the fic is well worth it. Novissima Verba may be my favorite although it's definitely the longest of the bunch. It's set after End Game. Janeaway once again must risk everything to save the Borg (not to mention herself) who's not at all interested in being saved from the former prison/mining planet she's exiled herself to. This is an incredibly complex and compelling story and Beacham's Seven is definitely one of my favorite characterizations of the Borg ever. Her Janeaway is equally inspired: Tough, brittle, dauntless, and hopelessly in love.

When the hell did I become such a Voyagerfic ho? ::shakes head in disbelief:: I'm just a sucker for good writing. ;)
[livejournal.com profile] anna_maria took up the following challenge: “Hermione/Pansy - menstrual blood, bathroom, dirty talk, established (though probably not healthy) relationship.” and wrote a PWP masterpiece in response. very NC-17 Thicker Than. Yes, menstrual blood, so if that squicks you out, don't read. Seriously.
