WTF?!
Okay, yeah, I can appreciate a tattooed Starbuck half-naked, sweaty, and beating up guys as much as the next person, but....did this feel like a piece of fanfic to anyone else? You know the kind, the behind-the-scenes sex kind. The hidden pain because we did it and now we have to go on with our fake lives fanfic. The kind of fic all of us slashers have to write because we never get teh onscreen sex so it's 'this is the real reason Alex and Olivia looked at each other that way in ep 2.7!' It especially felt like that because I don't remember even the slightest hint of subtext in any ep since the liberation of New Caprica. Yes, there's the Starbuck/Apollo animosity, but that's been around since Kara returned from Caprica whinging about Anders. Srsly. Did the BSG writers go looking for mid-season filler in the Starbuck/Apollo ship archives?
I won't even get into the fact that BSG's lack of gay in space is really getting on my last fucking nerve. Could someone be gay? Anyone? I'll take Hot Dog at this point. Or girlfighter number 3. Oh yeah, that's right. The cylons are gay. Or at least bi. Because they're EVIL!!! Space is for families!! And babies!
*sigh* I think all of the grading and reading and writing papers is getting to me.
