Lucy Lawless Watch continues - week 4 (?)

Did anyone else spot Lucy Lawless in the L Word last night? Just checking. You never know, I could have missed her appearance while rolling my eyes, or doubling over in pain from the terrible dialogue. Or the fourteen times I stood up to leave in disgust and my GF pulled me back on the couch because there was no way she was going to watch it alone.

Having Lucy Lawless on the show for all of 30 seconds has to rank as the nastiest trick yet from a show that already leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. And the word that [SPOILER ALERT] they don't intend to tell us who killed Jenny at the end of the season, just makes me want to puke. Note to Chaikenator: procedurals and murder mysteries don't work unless you 1) have actual detectives (LL!!) working on the case and 2) solve the frickin' case! Even as a parallel storyline. It certainly would have been more interesting (and god knows, more pretty) than the pathetic 'story' lines they have running now. I think I just found the strength to quit you, show.

As much as I love Alice (and Helena who's basically only trotted out for occasional eye candy and deus ex helena moments), there's no way I'm watching what will inevitably be a pathetic copy of Bad Girls - the spinoff.

It is amazing to me that they could snag LL and then barely use her (much like BSG as it nears the end). And I kept looking behind Mary-Beth Duffy for her 'sidekick' ;)

But the L Word is crack. I love it and hate it all at the same time.

I know, I know. The horror... the cynical side of me thinks that IL just wanted the bit of hype she knew she'd get from any mention of LL without actually giving her a meaningful storyline. The uncynical side of me...doesn't exist *G*

The fact that those of us still around are finding this season to be literally painful does not bode well. Unless we all take stark's approach and drink and crazycakes our way through it *G*

I think the crazycakes approach is the definite way to go. At this point, the only characters I give a damn about are Helena and Tasha.. just because Rose Rollins is really EFFIN' *hot*! Oh, and did you know Tasha and Alice have nothing in common? I mean, it's barely mentioned in any of the episodes, so we're not getting hammered over the head with the message or anything.

And, completely unrelated, I have you to thank for my latest addiction to delicious!

Heh! I love it. The show, I mean. I have loved it since I gave up any desire for a quality program with a) good writing, b) good acting, c) believable storylines and d) anything else that makes a good show work. Then it became really, really funny. And the sight of Jenny dead on a stretcher has kept me happy for a week. *ahem* That makes me sound like an evil person. I guess I just didn't ever like the show enough to have any expectations of it; thus it remains hilarious to me.

Michelle and I have a game called "Call the Crazycakes", which is basically that we watch a scene (this season one of the flashbacks) with Jenny speaking in a relatively un-crazy fashion and then we call "Crazycakes" moments before she says or does something totally...well, crazycakes. Like you see a little glint in Mia K's eye and you say "Here comes crazycakes!" and then within moments Jenny throws a lamp at Shane. The one who guesses it closest to the point of crazy action wins that point. Try it; it makes the show so much more enjoyable.

I know I should enjoy watching the trainwreck, I just...can't. Maybe because it's the only place left on tv that actually has real like lesbians? I guess I'll stick to fanfic for the actual content...and pr0n.

Sorry. No. I was being a sarcastic jerk. Because I have been teased with LL (and I wasn't even a Xena fan -- but I can definitely appreciate the hot that is LL) and the show didn't deliver. This has to be the cruelest month. Oh, wait. That's April. Also, I was hoping that an actual detective might mean actual plot. Alas, no.

LOL. I walked away from this show a season or two ago. The last scene I remember watching was Shane doing a bride, the bride's mom, and maybe the bridesmaid, or something, at a wedding. My brain fried. lol

Hahah, actually, I love that Jenny is dead, and not just because she's annoying. I LOVE L WORD NOIR! I love that this season is basically going to be Clue. "Bette in the bathroom with a vibrating dildo? Alice in the bedroom with a nipple clamp? WHO DUNNIT? WHOOOOO?" I think it is just the perfect end to a horrible show.

Seriously, it's like a friggin' crime in itself, to have LL on the show and to not have her half-naked and fucking everyone...she could have a threesome w/Bette & Tina and magically cure Bette of her cheating ways...'cause once you've had LL, what else is there?
