BSG, CSI

Just a quickie to let y'all know about two fine fics that managed to grab my vary sparse attention:

Turf Wars and its sequel Think Carefully About Going All In by snuffnyc are CSI, Sara/Sofia, PG-13. This is really an ongoing Sara/Sofia piece. I love a romance that takes its time without resorting to artificial obstacles and melodrama and this fics got it all. Sara and Sofia are wonderfully drawn and the tension between them is just palpable. Go and leave the feedback love so snuffnyc keeps bringing the fic.

Love Among the Ruins by jennyo is BSG, Laura/Maya, RPG-13. This fic is absolutely gorgeous. jennyo steps out of her usual role as PWP supplier of choice and writes a stunning S3 opener with crazy!plot and story. I found myself wishing like mad that Ms. Oksana actually wrote BSG because this is SO right on so many levels. It finally goes to the one place BSG hasn't -- the big GAY hate that is the core of so much fundamentalist anger and violence. I mean, they've tackled so many other hot-button issues, why not? But jennyo does it better anyway. The seduction scene as seen through Cally's eyes (it's not as kinky as it sounds) is just breathtaking. And Laura imprisoned by Cylons, demanding to see her family (Maya and baby Isis) made me want to stand up and scream "Fuck yeah!!" Or, I guess that would be, "Frak yeah!!" Also, I love the way jennyo's Laura even dirty and imprisoned just frakking pwns Baltar and by extension Six. Why do I have a terrible sinking feeling that I'm going to be sorely disappointed by Ron & Co's S3 after reading this? *goes back to read again*
