When I'm sick (and on cold medicine) apparently my thoughts turn to pr0n (and having pr0n muse wizened_cynic in my comments doesn't help! Or, yanno, it does in a very naughty way).

Xena rec of the day:
Truth or Dare by Meghan O'Brien is NC-17 and really, this is a PWP. A very well-written PWP and an uber. Jena has been fantasizing about Ryan since college. A reunion at a cabin in the woods with some friends leads to a game of truth or dare which leads to...oh you know the rest!

CSI
A Sassy Encounter, or The Return of the Infamous 'Love Scene' by Shatterpath in the Shatterstorm Femslash Advent Calendar is very NC-17, Sara/Sofia. There is a very good, very romantic story here, but my thoughts were totally derailed by the hot sex0r! In the best way possible. NWS. Not anywhere safe. I'd give this one 5 cold showers out of 5.

wizened_cynic brought valiant's tremendous PWP, Pit Stop to my attention. this is a superhot shortfic Jo/Jess, obviously very NC-17. I don 't know what to say about this except that it's two hot girls having hot sex in a pickup truck and fondly remembering other moments of hot sex. It's like a nesting doll of oral sex...or something. You know, I have no idea what that means, but yeah! Pr0n! Again NAS.

Xena rec of the day:
High Intensity by Bel-wah is PG-13. This is an excellent novel-length uber about a rich businesswoman attempting to climb Mt. Everest. Enter uberXena, a quiet, mountain-climbing guide with a tragic past. This really is an excellent read. I'm pretty sure it has already been published. I'd be surprised if it hasn't. The author definitely knows the details of mountain-climbing (I have a brother who's a climbing nut) and has an ear for rhythm and pacing. My only complaint about this fic is that the transformation of the uberGabrielle character from insufferable spoiled brat to eager student is a bit abrupt. Also, sadly, no pr0n. Still a fantastic story!


BSG
Hold a Mirror to My Face and Tell Me It Remains the Same by gespawcho is R, Gina/Cain. Since this pairing is now canon (or as canon as 'well we're not going to show it but you'll KNOW that they're together' makes anything -- which is not at all really), I expect a lot of fic because I will surely be disappointed by the story told by the BSG PTB. This is a haunting look at identity and emotion as Gina struggles with her feelings for Cain and her growing recognition of her true identity. Hers is not a face that remains unguarded but when she sleeps there is a clear compromise written somewhere on it.
