In both Bring It On and Stick It!, the "It" in question, as brought and stuck by Bendinger, is an unfamiliar combination (in Hollywood, anyway) of pluck, originality and wicked-ass soundtracks - all in service of movies that showcase teenage girls as smart, strong, ripped, pumped, positive forces at work in the screwed-up world around them. It is no exaggeration to say that Bendinger - who gets to direct her script this time around - is the only person in Hollywood today who has much respect for this demographic.
