It seems as usual, my last post managed to overlook a major player in the Miranda/Petrovsky universe -- [livejournal.com profile] thrace_. -- which doesn't surprise me at all For those of you who don't follow [livejournal.com profile] thrace_'s LJ, *shakeshead*, you are so missing out. If [livejournal.com profile] wizened_cynic is the crazy future overlord, [livejournal.com profile] thrace_ is the Oracle of Femslash. Srsly. I can't tell you how many fandoms she's introduced me to. She seems to know where femslash will be happening before the producers and writers do. Plus, her 'women with kevlar and guns fetish' provides unbelievably hot picspam on a semi-regular basis.

There are so many things going on in femslash, I can't keep up. Here's what I do know: [livejournal.com profile] ralst's International Day of Femslash is fast approaching. Because it's time to get your GOGA on! Go give your love and support to femslash! Also, [livejournal.com profile] femslash09 is open for registration so please, pretty please, go, sign up and support these two extraordinary femslash events!

And, yes, a couple of random recs:
Never Bend with the Rainfall by [livejournal.com profile] monanotlisa is Teyla/Keller, PG-13, SGA. Keller, after an extraordinarily stressful mission, brings Teyla a present. Is it a gesture of friendship or something more? Neither one of them can seem to decide.

True Form by [livejournal.com profile] julia_fractal is Harry Potter, Hermione/Tonks, Mature. For those of you who find HP fandom to be problematic at best, this is a mature Hermione and Tonks. Set during the war, Hermione and Tonks find love and try to make the best of it even as they suffer terrible losses. This is a truly extraordinary fic. Beautifully written with wonderful characterization and just...yeah, this is one of those fics that makes me proud to be a femslasher. I can't say enough for it. And I love what she does with Tonks lack of a set physical form and Hermione who is so desperate for some sort of stability as everything crumbles around her, trying to get to the 'real' Tonks she believes is somewhere underneath. Truly inspired stuff.

I know there are many on my flist who won't go near the Harry Potter fandom. Either because of the insanity of the fandom itself or squickiness of the underage character pairings. But you're missing out on some truly wondrous fic. I can't blame anyone since I'm not a fan of the source material myself, but, as usual, certain writers can take these characters and make, well, magic

[livejournal.com profile] eudaimon is one of those writers and her fic, You and Me and the Rain, is pure magic. Hermione/Tonks, Most Definitely R. Also, this is an older Hermione and Tonks (20s) so no need to worry about the squick. [livejournal.com profile] eudaimon is a master with language. She clearly loves the written word and it definitely loves her right back. All of her words, every sentence feels absolutely necessary. No waste. Nothing extra to get in the way of what comes down to incredible storytelling. And her characters are so well drawn and full, we have to invent extra dimensions because three and even four just aren't enough to contain them. There's definitely something musical about [livejournal.com profile] eudaimon 's work, it has a gorgeous rhythm and sound to it and all of it written and played in a minor key full of sadness, hope, and longing. This is the magic, people. One of those fics and one of those writers who not only blurs the line between pro fic and fan fic but obliterates it completely. Seriously. This is some of the best fiction I've read in a while. Period. Read and leave the love for another great writer.

[livejournal.com profile] inell issued the Girls Just Want to Have Fun (With Each Other) challenge and the very fine results are rolling in to [livejournal.com profile] hp_girlslash. I'm currently reading, enjoying like crazy, and collecting recs, but I thought I'd share the love.

remember, feedback=love so leave it if you feel it for these fine writers.

hmmm, femslash challenge...

A couple of HP recs, 'cause I missed yesterday (Write Club happened).

Understanding You, (Pansy/Ginny). I'm all for the odd pairings in HP today. I love this fic. Mainly because godonthewater presents us with the situation and not a lot of backstory and lets it all just... unfold. Show don't tell is such a hard thing to do. Plus, older, jaded Pansy and Ginny with a past is kinda hot.

lost, found, magnificent thingsby [livejournal.com profile] eudaimon is just a beautiful thing. Hermione/Tonks It's a series of lyrical in-betweens that feel light and breezy, but have remarkable depth. [livejournal.com profile] eudaimon also inserts design and photo elements that slide seamlessly into the narrative and enhance it all.
