OT - this is your brain on flu
Mar. 8th, 2006 08:42 pmfuck the flu. I have no brain, but other people still have thiers...
alg's Unsolicited submissions. That means "Submissions no one asked for that you're sending anyway.". She's a real live actual editor at Tor books and if you're just beginning the hell of submitting fiction (novels esp), this post has tons of links to resources that will help. And yes, they hold up for those of us who write non-genre fiction too. Also, you will waste many pages of paper and envelopes and lots of stamps submitting the wrong thing to the wrong literary zines and agents at first. just keep going. even if you screwed up and sent your first story in Arial 10 pt on pink paper, odds are, the slush reader who threw it directly in the trash the first time is gone now, so you can resubmit it four months later (following the guidelines) and no one will remember a thing.
edited to add I give up. obviously this post was meant for my other blog. sorry. no more posts til i'm back to full brain. promise.
